What are the advantages of Zyoptix™ System over the standard LASIK procedure?
Based on the clinical studies submitted to Bausch
& Lomb, significant number of ZYOPTIX™ patients had better
vision with night driving than patients treated with standard LASIK.

Is the procedure painful?
The procedure is virtually painless with minimal discomfort, and takes a matter of minutes. However, your eyes may feel slightly grainy and watery for few hours, but you should not experience any significant pain.

What happens before the treatment?
Your Zyoptix™ surgeon at The Eye Laser Center will discuss all the options with you after a series of very thorough diagnostic tests to determine the suitability of your eyes for the treatment. Be prepared to spend at least 2 hours at the center to undergo the diagnostic tests such as vision tests, pupil size, aberrometry, corneal mapping, corneal thickness and eye diseases.
What happens during treatment?
You will be given an oral medication to relax. Local anesthetic drops will be put into your eye to make sure that you will feel no pain. Your Zyoptix surgeon will cover your eyelashes and your eyelids will be kept open. Your opposite eye will be temporarily covered with a patch. The actual treatment will then be performed and should be over in a few minutes.
What happens after the procedure?
You will sit up and walk to the recovery area. Your treated eyes will be examined after 3-5 minutes and will be re-examined after 10-20 minutes. You will also be given antibiotics and anti-inflammatory eyedrops. You will also be given a stylish wrap around goggles to prevent you from rubbing your eyes while asleep and to protect your eyes from bright lights.
How soon can I see the results?
You should be able to see better 1-2 hours after the procedure. Really dramatic result can be realized the morning after your surgery - you can see the details of your surroundings in sharp focus with a vision of 20/40 or better without the eyeglasses.
